Research Interests and Summary

Dr. Wu is interested in integrating cognitive science and engineering system design, especially modeling human cognition system with its applications in system design, improving transportation safety, promoting human performance in user-centered human-machine interaction, and inventing innovative sustainable and smart energy systems with human in the loop.

Overall, Dr. Wu has a total of 117 publications with over 1,627 citations (See his Google Scholar Page), including peer-reviewed 80 journal papers, 37 conference papers, and 1 book chapter as well as 2 authorized patents. Dr. Wu's research is supported by NSF, NIH, UTRC/DOT, and Cisco. Dr. Wu provides students with systematic research training and has graduated 5 doctoral students as assistant professors and a R&D researcher.
